Employment Contract Review
Employment and severance agreement review, before you sign.
A job offer or severance agreement can give up rights you didn't know you had. I review it, explain it in plain English, and help you ask for better terms.
What I review
- Employment agreements and offer letters
- Pay, bonuses, termination terms, and the clauses that follow you after you leave.
- Severance agreements
- What you get, what you give up, and whether the offer is fair.
- Severance negotiation
- If there is room to ask for more, I help you ask.
What to check before you sign
- The deadline. If you are 40 or older, and the agreement asks you to waive applicable rights, federal law usually gives you 21 days to consider a severance agreement and 7 days to change your mind after signing.
- The release. Most severance agreements ask you to give up legal claims against your employer.
- Non-compete and non-solicitation clauses. These can limit where you work next.
- Non-disparagement and confidentiality. What you will and won't be allowed to say.
